DUAL STUDIES IN “INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEMS”
Stadtwerke Frankfurt (Oder) is a cooperation partner of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam in the dual study course “Infrastructure Systems” in the field of civil engineering, which terminates with a Bachelor of Engineering degree. The practice-integrated course lasts 8 semesters and starts in October for the winter semester. You study at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. During the lecture-free periods you will learn, work and actively participate in our company. You will gain an insight into a wide range of topics and activities, such as:
- Company structure and operational processes
- Basics of district heating supply
- Systems of heat generation and heat distribution
- Design of networks and systems
- Economic feasibility studies and calculations
- Preparation and implementation of construction measures (concept, planning, tender, construction)
- Maintenance planning
- Documentation of the system inventory using a database and geographical information systems
PROGRAM CONTENT
- General foundations: Mathematics, technical drawing, surveying, programming, communication and scientific work, reflection on theory-practice transfer and the course of studies
- Basics of construction/civil engineering: Statics, building construction, building materials science, building physics, foundation engineering, solid construction
- Infrastructure: Urban construction, mobility systems, design of traffic routes, traffic engineering, hydraulic engineering, water and sewage, environmental and planning law
- Construction management and law: Project management, construction operations, construction planning, construction law, construction management

THE REQUIREMENTS
- General or subject-specific university or technical college entrance qualification with a good grade point average
- Or a completed apprenticeship/master craftsman school suited to the program with at least two years of professional experience
- Good knowledge of mathematics, physics and German
- Independent, systematic and analytical way of working
- Communication skills
- Interest in technology and a general interest in construction
- Responsibility and safety awareness
- Fulfill the admission requirements of the FH Potsdam
